Science in Community: A Public Dialogue Event

COFFEE_KLATCH

Abstract

At the Fall DPP Meeting in Long Beach, APS DPP Education & Outreach and the APS Office of Public Engagement are organizing a facilitated, dialogue-based event that will bring together plasma physicists and members of the Teen Science Café at the Aquarium of the Pacific for a structured conversation about science, trust, and the role of emerging technologies in everyday life. The event will take place at the aquarium (only 10 minutes from the convention center) on Sunday, November 16, 12 - 2 pm. Lunch will be provided.

The goal of the event is to create a space for reciprocal reflection, relationship-building, and shared exploration of how science shows up in people's lives. The teens are particularly excited to meet plasma scientists! We are seeking volunteers to participate in the event. Please email sgreco@pppl.gov by November 7 if interested.
