Control and Application of localization in phase space via wave-particle interactions
POSTER
Abstract
Secondary particles produced by colliders have a broad phase space structure in general. Suppose one hopes to use these secondary particles for specific purposes such as medical accelerators, muon-catalyzed fusion, etc. In that case, only some particles in a localized phase space volume can be applicable, and others will be lost. Here, we propose a drastic increase in the number of particles in a certain volume in phase space due to wave-particle interactions. To increase the efficiency of the applicable particles, a modulation of wave structure in real space, such as Laguerre-Gaussian mode, and a magnetic mirror configuration are discussed. The presentation will report an example of the system for control and application of the localization in phase space via wave-particle interactions.
