Bolometric Diagnostics for CMFX

We report on a bolometer system for the Centrifugal Mirror Fusion Experiment (CMFX), based on the design reported by Fernandez et al. [J.C. Fernández et al., Nucl. Fusion 28, 1555 (1988)]. The goal of this project is to to adapt the design of the bolometer previously developed to the regions with the highest radiated power in CMFX while also retaining its accuracy and time resolution during long pulse operations. A further goal is to install two arrays of identical bolometers to obtain a broad cross-sectional profile of the plasma power. This array will be positioned at the symmetry plane between the two permanent superconducting magnets of CMFX.
