Study of double layer oscillation with a pump wave interaction in a laboratory plasma

POSTER

Abstract

We have observed a self-generated global oscillation around 40-43 kHz in a fireball-assisted double layer produced in a cylindrical multi-dipole plasma chamber. We have applied a pump wave with selective amplitude and frequency which interacts with the natural oscillation of the double layer. This interaction induces sideband frequency components, dampens the original oscillation, and modulates the overall amplitude based on the pump wave parameters. The nonlinear linear behaviour of the resultant oscillation will be presented.
