Magnetized electrons in a low-density ultracold plasma
POSTER
Abstract
For sufficiently strong magnetic fields, it is possible to create plasmas where the electrons' length scale associated with the magnetic field (Larmor radius) is smaller than any screening lengths, interparticle spacings, or Coulomb collision parameters. Through using low-density ultracold plasmas, such conditions can be obtained at modest laboratory fields. We describe the basic properties of ultracold plasmas created under these conditions.
