Electron Acoustic Waves Inside a Plasma Sheath Around a Hypersonic Vehicle
POSTER
Abstract
High plasma density inside a plasma sheath around a hypersonic vehicle prevents electromagnetic waves with the frequencies below the local plasma frequency to propagate in this layer. This creates serious communication problems. One of the possibilities to mitigate this problem is to create two temperature electron plasma inside a sheath to allow electron acoustic waves to propagate through a plasma layer. Excitation, propagation and attenuation of electron acoustic waves inside a plasma sheath in the presence of an electron beam will be discussed.
