Kinetic Alfven Wave Turbulence Simulations Update

Abstract

We present results for the numerical validation and verification of KAW, a 3D code designed to study the nonlinear interaction of kinetic Alfven waves. KAW employs an EMHD model, but is modified to include some kinetic effects by the electrons. Initial nonlinear results of interacting kinetic Alfen waves will also be presented. These results can be compared to experimental results from the Large Plasma Device (LAPD) at UCLA.
