3N SRCs through Inclusive Electron Scattering from XEM2

ORAL

Abstract

Previous inelastic electron scattering measurements at SLAC and Jefferson Lab during the 6 GeV era have found evidence of 2N Short Range Correlations (SRCs) and have measured the value of the 2N SRC scaling plateau. With the 12 GeV upgrade at Jefferson lab, experiment E12-06-105 ran with a wider range of previously unmeasured nuclei, extending data for 2N SRCs. As a part of this dataset, nuclei were also measured in the 2 < x < 3 range which allows for the potential extraction of the first experimental evidence of 3N SRCs. 3N SRCs have proven to be more elusive as several experiments have tried to measure it but they have not yet been observed. This presentation covers the preliminary results of extracting the cross section ratios in the 3N SRC region from the XEM2 experiment.
