Inclusive Scattering at 8° and 10° from Nuclei at x >1 in the Quasielastic Regime

Abstract

Short-range correlations (SRCs) refer to the interaction between nucleons that are very close together within the nuclei. So close that their short range interaction can no longer be described by a mean field approximation. The particular area of interest for this work is two nucleon (2N) SRCs. To study this, experiment E12-06-105 was conducted in Hall C at JLab. Utilizing an unpolarized beam of electrons that inclusively scatter off of fixed nuclear targets and detected by the SHMS. The experiment yielded precision cross-section ratios that will be used to compare nuclear targets to deuterium (A/D cross section ratios). The data was recorded with scattering angles of 8.0° and 10.0°. In this talk, preliminary cross section ratios of multiple targets will be compared to one another and to preexisting world data.
