The Quest Toward Hybrid Mesons with GlueX
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The GlueX experiment was designed to map out the spectrum of hybrid mesons, quark-antiquark states with an excited gluonic field, which can help us gain insight into how the gluon contributes to the properties of bound states in QCD. This talk will describe the search strategy for hybrid mesons at GlueX and summarize the most recent experimental results. Results include the recent measurement of the a20(1320) photoproduction cross section, as well as an upper limit on the π1(1600) photoproduction cross section. A recent publication on the Δ++ SDMEs also lays the groundwork for future analyses with a recoil Δ++.
