First-quantization quantum computing for nuclear physics: pion-less interaction

ORAL

Abstract

In this talk, I will present quantum computing algorithms for simulating nuclear systems. I will focus on first-quantization mapping, which requires a relatively small number of qubits, and thus could be relevant for the near-future fault-tolerant era. Specifically, I will consider pion-less interaction involving two-body and three-body contact interactions and I will present an efficient algorithm for calculating time evolution. Based on this approach, I will show results for the calculation of electron-scattering response function for the 3-body system including an estimation of the required number of quantum gates (using simulations on a classical computer).
