Equation-of-Motion Extensions of the In-Medium Similarity Renormalization Group
ORAL
Abstract
The In-Medium Similarity Renormalization Group (IMSRG) is a powerful technique for constructing effective nuclear interactions and observables that systematically incorporate many-body correlations. The IMSRG-improved operators can immediately yield information about nuclear ground states, and they serve as input for diagonalization or configuration mixing techniques that can be used to compute excitation energies, wave functions and other observables of interest. Equation-of-Motion (EOM) techniques are an appealing alternative to such approaches because they offer access to excitation spectra, electroweak transitions, and even response at a lower computational cost. In this contribution, we will briefly discuss the current status of EOM-IMSRG techniques, present new developments, and show first applications.
