Strong Interactions: A Podcast Exploring the Electron-Ion Collider and Science Communication
ORAL
Abstract
"Strong Interactions" is a podcast about exploring a new frontier in nuclear physics at the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). The podcast is intended for the wider EIC community, with a particular focus on students and early-career researchers. It aims to educate new members of the community about the EIC's science program and to highlight its unique role in nuclear physics and other fields of science. Strong Interactions also serves as a platform for improving how we communicate EIC science to the general public. The podcast is created by Maria Żurek and Markus Diefenthaler, in collaboration with Azizah Mahmood, under the auspices of the EIC User Group. In this talk, we will share how the podcast was developed, the types of stories it tells, and the impact it is already having. We will also discuss what we have learned from our audience so far and how this project is helping us become more effective communicators.
