Abstract

In the summer of 2025, the Large Hadron Collider at CERN carried out its first ever oxygen-oxygen run at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy √sNN=5.36 TeV. Measurements by the ATLAS Collaboration of the charged particle pseudorapidity and mean pT distributions (dN/dη and dN/dpT) in 16O+16O collisions are presented. These measurements allow for better understanding of the formation and dynamics of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) in smaller systems and improved insight into how nuclear structure influences QGP characteristics. Also, this analysis makes further study of QGP thermodynamics possible through measurements of properties such as the temperature or energy density of the system.
