Simulation of the angular distribution with the MoNA-LISA neutron detector
ORAL
Abstract
The Modular Neutron Array (MoNA) and Large multi-Institutional Scintillator Array (LISA) consist of a total of 288 bars of an organic plastic scintillator with dimensions of 10 cm x 10 cm x 200 cm and photo-multiplier tubes attached at both ends of each bar. In preparation for the first two experiments of the MoNA Collaboration in the FRIB era, a commissioning experiment was performed to calibrate the entire MoNA-Sweeper setup in the S2 vault. Simulations were performed to model the position pattern and reconstruct the angular distribution of the events across the MoNA-LISA array. This information is valuable to understand the energy level within the isotope from which the neutrons came from. Results from this study was compared to experimental data. They will be presented and discussed.
