Abstract
This panel will feature nuclear physicists working across a broad spectrum of scientific careers beyond academia: from nuclear forensics and nuclear data research at national laboratories, to applied research in nuclear security science and engineering, and careers in the military. Panelists will discuss how early-career scientists can develop strong scientific portfolios, build relevant skill sets, and navigate job searches tailored to these and related career paths. The 1-hour structured panel will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
Panelists: Dawn A. Shaughnessy (Nuclear and Chemical Sciences Division, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory), David Brown (National Nuclear Data Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory), Zachary Meisel (Department of Engineering Physics, Air Force Institute of Technology), Katherine Childers (Remote Sensing Laboratory, Nuclear Emergency Support Team)
