Exploring TMDs at CEBAF12 and RHIC: Experimental Approaches and Results
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The confinement of quarks and gluons inside of colorless hadrons is a defining characteristic of the strong force. Transverse momentum distributions (TMDs) have opened a window on the nature of confinement by providing a way to map the multi-dimensional spin and momentum structure of partons, both inside of hadrons and during the hadronization process. This talk will present measurements from the robust TMD programs that have emerged from experiments at the CEBAF12 and RHIC facilities. These results will be discussed in the context of ongoing and future efforts to probe TMDs around the world.
