Form Factors from Lattice QCD

ORAL · Invited

Abstract

Form factors encode the information of the coupling between local currents and hadrons due to their composite nature. Lattice QCD is the only framework that allows the theoretical systematically improvable determination of form factors in the non-perturbative energy region of QCD. In this talk, I will review the state-of-the-art lattice QCD results of electromagnetic form factors, focusing on some of the main technical challenges like excited state contamination and signal-to-noise ratio degradation. I will also discuss more novel lattice QCD results of gravitational form factors, and the opportunities they offer to unravel additional information on the internal structure of QCD states. This talk will focus on the nucleon, with a brief account of the mesonic sector and beyond.
