Performance of the Neutral Particle Spectrometer at JLab
ORAL
Abstract
The Neutral Particle Spectrometer (NPS), a new stand-alone electromagnetic calorimeter, is dedicated to detecting high-energy photons in high-radiation and high-rate environments. The NPS is a highly segmented assembly of PbW04 blocks preceded by a 0.3 Tm magnet. So far, the NPS Science Program includes 8 JLab-approved experiments studying nucleon structure through exclusive and semi-inclusive reactions. The NPS was first used from September 2023 to May 2024. This talk will review the NPS's performance during this period.
