Charge Symmetry Violation in Pion Fragmentation Functions from Protons and Deuterons

Abstract
We have measured the semi-inclusive charged pion multiplicities from hydrogen and deuterium targets using a 10.6 GeV electron beam at Jefferson Lab. Assuming factorization at low transverse momentum and allowing for isospin breaking, these multiplicities are used to extract two favored and two unfavored pion fragmentation functions (FFs). We will present preliminary results on charge symmetry violation (CSV) in these fragmentation functions.
