Nuclear Modification of J/Psi Production in Fermilab E906 'SeaQuest' Data
ORAL
Abstract
It is now well known that the parton distributions of free nucleons and those bound in nuclei are significantly different, having measurable consequences in scattering experiments involving nuclear media. The Fermilab E906, "SeaQuest", experiment took data with a proton beam on hydrogen, deuterium, and various nuclear targets from 2014 to 2017. SeaQuest recently published Drell-Yan dimuon data from the proton and deuterium targets, measuring the ratio of anti-up and anti-down quarks in the parton sea. In addition, the SeaQuest spectrometer measured many dimuons from charmonium production. In this talk, I will present results on the nuclear modification of J/ψ and ψ' production in SeaQuest data. These data will provide insight into the interactions of hadronic final states with cold nuclear matter, which also has implications for the study of quarkonium jets, and complements earlier data from experiments at CERN and Fermilab.
