Cross-Section Measurements of Λ(1405) Photoproduction from CLAS g12 Data
ORAL
Abstract
The nature of the Λ(1405) resonance remains an unsolved puzzle despite being predicted in 1959 by Dalitz and Tuan and experimentally confirmed soon thereafter in 1961. It is a I(JP)=0(½-) and strangeness S= -1 state. This resonance has some unusual features and there is currently no firmly established and widely accepted explanation of it. Cross-section data can be very useful in understanding the underlying dynamics at play in photo-nuclear reactions and provide some constraints for theoretical models. Preliminary energy-dependent total and differential cross sections will be presented for 1.45 ≤ Eγ ≤ 5.44 GeV and 0.2 ≤ -t ≤ 7 GeV2 extracted from data collected using the CLAS detector.
