Mentoring Awardee: Mentoring in the Helium Mines
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
Anyone who has benefited as much as I have from outstanding mentors will feel
both an obligation and a delight in paying it forward. Mentoring seems to have a lot
of empirical accumulated knowledge but not so much formal structure, although
that is changing. I will describe what helped me in my own career, and what
emerged over the years as I worked with (increasingly!) younger colleagues. I
would be remiss in not mentioning some epic failures, because those are also
learning experiences.
