Abstract

I will be hosting a workshop on how to prepare for PhD studies in nuclear science and related

fields. Since the PhD degree is a research degree, the most important thing you have done to

prepare is original research. In this workshop you will learn about two important components

of your application: the personal (professional) statement and who should write letters of

reference on your behalf. Resources on external fellowships and a timeline/checklist on what

you need to do will be provided. At the end there will be opportunities for questions and

answers.

This workshop is hosted by the Conference Experience for Undergraduate (CEU) Program and open to all

conference participants.
