Implementation of The RHIC Zero Degree Calorimeters in sPHENIX Geant4 simulation
POSTER
Abstract
The RHIC Zero Degree Calorimeter(ZDC) is designed for luminosity measurement, centrality measurement, and event triggering. In the sPHENIX simulation, two ZDCs located at about $\pm$18.5 m from the collision point measure the spectator neutrons emitted in a narrow cone along the beam direction. Besides the ZDC detector, an afterburner that applies Fermi Motion to the spectator neutron is implemented. D0 and DX magnets are also implemented to simulate the background in the ZDC. After the implementation of the ZDC analysis chain, the energy resolutions to various beams are measured to compare with the test beam data.
