Performance of the GlueX Polarized Photon Source

ORAL

Abstract

A polarized photon source based on collimated coherent bremsstrahlung from a 12 GeV electron beam incident on an oriented diamond crystal has been constructed for the GlueX experiment in Hall D at Jefferson Lab. Commissioning of the source took place during the period February-April, 2016, successfully demonstrating the achievement of key performance parameters. An overview of these results will be given, and comparisons made with the predictions based on a detailed model of the beam and the coherent bremsstrahlung process in diamond.
