Photoproduction of JPsi at GlueX
ORAL
Abstract
We propose to measure photoproduction of $J/\psi$ using the photon beam at GlueX produced by 12 GeV electrons. Existing measurements at SLAC lead to the expectation that $J/\psi$ can be produced at GlueX with photon energy ranging from 8.4--11.8 GeV. The measurement will enable us to distinguish between $J/\psi$ production due to two or three gluons interacting with the proton target. Data taken recently with 12 GeV electrons is being analyzed to confirm the expected production of $J/\psi$ decaying into $e^+e^-$.
