Building a Test Stand for Silicon Photomultiplies for sPHENIX Calorimeter Readout

POSTER

Abstract

The sPHENIX detector is a second-generation heavy ion collision experiment planned to be built at Brookhaven National Laboratory's (BNL) Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The read-out of the electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeters will be via silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). In preparation for characterizing the approximately 125,000 SiPMs that will be used in the detector, a test stand has been built at Augustana University. In this poster we give the details of the test stand and example tests that have and can be done.
