Study of pulse shape discrimination techniques for the MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR
ORAL
Abstract
The MAJORANA DEMONSTRATOR will perform a search for neutrinoless double-beta decay in 76Ge. The experiment is currently under construction at the Sanford Underground Laboratory in South Dakota, USA. It will use an array of 40 kg of germanium detectors, up to 30 kg of which will be enriched to 86\% of 76Ge. A major goal of the demonstrator is to reach a background level necessary to prove the feasibility of a tonne-scale experiment. This talk will discuss the performance of a pulse shape discrimination technique that will help reduce the background to the required level.
