Abstract

Neutrinoless double beta decay can only occur if lepton number is violated and if the neutrino is its own anti-particle; therefore observation of this decay will provide a new window to physics beyond the Standard Model. The implications of neutrinoless double beta decay in theories of CP violation will be discussed.
