Where does the spin of the proton come from?

The progress of lattice calculations toward the study of the quark and glue momenta and angular momenta is reviewed. I will show a complete calculation which includes quark contributions in both the connected and disconnected insertions as well as the contribution from the glue. The partition of the proton spin in terms of the quark spin, the quark orbital angular momentum and the glue angular momentum will be presented.
