sPHENIX Forward PYTHIA Jet Studies

sPHENIX is a proposed upgrade to the PHENIX detector at RHIC. It is a forward spectrometer covering the rapidity range $1 < ? < 4$, which is important for measuring hadrons, electrons, photons, and jets. Before completion, simulation studies will be made to determine if the intended location of the upgrade will allow for the measurement of jet events in both pp and heavy ion collisions. These studies incorporate a specific version of the PYTHIA event generator designed for PHENIX. Jet reconstruction is preformed on the simulated events in the ? interval of interest, and the transverse momentum of the jets is studied.
