Causal Viscous Hydrodynamic Response to High Momentum Jets

ORAL

Abstract

Particle correlations measured in A+A reactions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider may be used to infer properties of the medium produced. Viscous hydrodynamic calculations are being used to model the response of the medium to high-momentum jets. We present results on the propagation of sound waves in Israel-Stewart causal viscous hydrodynamics which includes shear stress relaxation effects.
