Application of Photobleaching Molecular Tagging Velocimetry to Flow Boiling Studies
ORAL
Abstract
This work presents our progress in advancing photobleaching Molecular Tagging Velocimetry (MTV) for flow boiling heat transfer studies in both high surface tension and low surface tension fluorinated fluids (water and HFE-7200, respectively). We describe the tracer selection based on their solubility in the solvents of interest, photobleaching and photochemical characteristics, and the expected requirements for tagging and interrogation time scales in the planned experiments. For each tracer, the selection of lasers for tagging by photobleaching and interrogation, and their intensity requirement are presented. Finally, we illustrate the implementation in demonstration experiments based on one-component MTV (1c-MTV).
