Modeling Particle Dynamics in a Viscous Fluid Under Random External Forcing
ORAL
Abstract
This research focuses on studying the dynamics of small spherical particles immersed in a viscous fluid and subjected to externally applied random forces. We employ two computational approaches. The first involves discretizing the surface of the sphere using the regularized Stokeslet method. The second, in contrast, avoids discretization and instead employs the method of images for regularized Stokeslets. In our model, the particles are assumed to be rigid spheres capable of both translational and rotational motion in response to transient external forces.
