On the early stage of droplet spreading on a solid substrate

The spreading of a droplet deposited on a plane surface is investigated thanks to direct numerical simulation with a particular focus on the early stage of the spreading. The linear evolution of the base radius with time first reported in the experiments of Eddi et al. PoF 2013 is clearly confirmed for different liquid viscosities and contact angles.
