Aerodynamic forces sensitivity using adjoint method applied for flow past a cylinder with forced oscillation
ORAL
Abstract
Aerodynamic forces sensitivity is applied for a flow past a cylinder with forced oscillation in the cross-stream direction by considering an optimization problem. In this case, the aerodynamic forces are the objective functional, while the Reynolds number (Re) and external forcing are the control variables. To verify the sensitivity using the adjoint method, calculations with respect to Re are applied
for steady and periodic flows around a fixed cylinder. The results are compared with the sensitivity given by the finite difference method. This work proposes the calculation of the aerodynamic forces sensitivity for the flow past a cylinder with forced oscillation to introduce an analysis about the influence of the control variables in this system.
