Ultracold atom-molecule collisions in a magnetic field: An adiabatic approach
ORAL
Abstract
Rigorous coupled-channel calculations that solve the time-independent Schroedinger equation exactly offer the most detailed and rigorous picture of ultracold molecular collisions. The adiabatic formalism is a powerful tool for the description of ultracold few-body recombination and reactive scattering. Here, we extend this formalism to nonreactive atom-molecule collisions in a magnetic field. We find that the adiabatic basis provides a large reduction of computational effort compared to the previously used diabatic basis for cold He-NH and Mg-NH collisions in a magnetic field.
