Multi-site, multi-ensemble integrated photonics ytterbium ion clock

ORAL

Abstract

Scalable quantum sensor and quantum computing platforms necessitate the development of integrated photonics for reduced size and increased atom quantity. To this end, we micro-fabricated an ion trap with multiple integrated waveguides each addressing a laser wavelength ranging from the ultraviolet to near infrared. Each waveguide acts a five-way beam splitter to address multiple ions as a single ensemble. We report on progress of this multi-site, multi-ensemble integrated photonics ytterbium ion clock.
