Raman and Coherent Raman Symmetry Specific Low-Frequency Vibrational Spectra ofLiNbO3 Single Crystals
POSTER
Abstract
We have measured polarization sensitive Raman and Coherent Raman Spectra [1] of
Stochiometric Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) crystals. The observed emission bands are related to
the symmetry species of the crystal. We explain the measurement and the signal processing
methods used to eliminate unwanted spectral response properties of the laser spectroscopy
system. These include birefringent and nonresonant background effects. We concluded that the
coherent method can significantly reduce the measurement time even if it is executed in the low
power density range relative to the spontaneous Raman recordings condition and provide much
richer information about the vibrational structure of the crystal.
