Droplets of Strongly Interacting Dipolar Molecules

Abstract

Strong long-range interactions are ubiquitous in nature. Here, we realize novel exotic states in a dipolar quantum fluid of ultracold molecules with strong and tunable dipolar interactions. Starting from a weakly interacting BEC of sodium-cesium molecules [1], we induce dipolar interactions with an unconventional angular anisotropy. We report on the first observation of quantum droplets and droplet arrays in this new strongly interacting quantum system.
