Excitonic skin effect in dissipative spin-orbit coupled systems
ORAL
Abstract
The non-Hermitian skin effect is an intriguing phenomena that physical states are concentrated near the boundary of a system due to the non-reciprocal couplings. Whereas conventional skin effect concerns single particles, here we point out that an exciton formed by a bound particle-hole pair with a net imaginary vector potential may also exhibit skin effect. We show that dissipative spin-orbit coupling provides a natural platform to study such excitonic skin effect.
