Systematic effects in the ACME III electron EDM Experiment

ORAL

Abstract

The measurement of the electron electric dipole moment (eEDM) probes time-reversal (T) violating physics beyond the Standard Model. The ACME experiment measures the eEDM using a cold beam of ThO molecules. The third generation of the ACME experiment (ACME III) is now operational and undergoing checks for systematic effects. Here, we report on our recent progress in characterizing and suppressing systematic effects, including those previously identified in earlier experiments and those revealed through improved sensitivity.
