Monitored quantum dynamics with Bose-Einstein condensates in optical tweezers

ORAL

Abstract

We report on the production of one-dimensional arrays of Bose-Einstein Condensates (BEC) of 39K for studies of monitored quantum dynamics. Our apparatus combines AOD generated tweezer arrays and painted potentials with tunable interactions via a magnetic Feshbach resonance to quickly produce arrays of small condensates of 39K. We present results on the matter-wave interference of multiple independently produced BECs, as well as tunnel-coupled BECs. Finally, we use phase contrast imaging to non-destructively measure the atom number of our BECs with varying strengths, and observe the subsequent effect on the relative phase via matter-wave interference.
