Progress Towards Ultracold Dipolar Gases of Ground State NaK Molecules
ORAL
Abstract
Dipolar molecules with strong long-range and anisotropic interactions have the potential to realize novel platforms for exotic many-body physics and efficient quantum computations. Here, we present our recent progress towards creating ultracold gases of dipolar NaK ground state molecules. We first briefly update our progress on creating bosonic Na41K Feshbach molecules and exploring their STIRAP path. We then present our work on creating a degenerate Bose-Fermi mixture with Na and 40K, from which we assemble fermionic Na40K Feshbach molecules. Our efforts towards achieving efficient STIRAP transfer of Na40K will be presented as well. As an outlook, we discuss our plans to explore exotic long-range pairing in these molecular gases.
