Optical tweezer array apparatus for Sr atoms
POSTER
Abstract
Alkaline-earth atom, with an extra valence electron, offers extra controllability for quantum computation. Here, we present a new optical tweezer setup using ultracold Strontium-88 atoms. We explain the efficient creation of arrays of atoms using two-stage magneto-optical traps. Specifically, we investigate a new method for the enhanced loading of an array of single-atom tweezers for Strontium-88 atoms, which could be applied to other types of atoms as well. Our research sets the foundation for a promising quantum computation platform with a scalable qubit array.
