Strong-field-driven solids monitored by attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy
ORAL
Abstract
Strong-field dynamics in solids have recently received significant attention in high-order harmonic generation and for the ultrafast manipulation of the conduction properties of solids with light. Attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (ATAS) has been used to monitor these ultrafast dynamics, by scanning the delay between the strong optical pump and an additional XUV or x-ray probe. Here, we employ time-dependent density functional theory to simulate strong-field dynamics in solids probed by XUV pulses. We identify delay-dependent features in the ATAS signal and show how these can be used to access the underlying strong-field dynamics.
