Analyzing biochemical changes in Pork Tissue using Raman Spectroscopy
POSTER
Abstract
There is a need for a rapid, noncontact, observer method to analyze the degree of burn wounds. Raman Spectroscopy is a light-based technique that offers a promising solution for this problem. We use pork tissue as a substitute for human tissue before and after heating to various temperatures. We use Raman Spectroscopy to find biochemical changes to proteins and lipids caused by exposure to intense heat. These measurement will be used as a foundation for classifying burn wounds.
