Navigating Graduate School

Abstract

A panel discussing the ins and outs of graduate school starting from presenting yourself on paper to schools to navigating student life once accepted. We will talk about our experiences as graduate students from four different R1 programs, what it means with regards to classes, comprehensive exams, masters exit systems, and day to day life. While the graduate student experience is different for all, each of us goes through the same application process. We would be happy to answer questions about how we selected the schools, programs, and professors we were interested in as well as how we presented our application materials (GRE scores, CV, research experience, and GPA scores), and made our final decision. This panel is open to any questions on the graduate school experience. Panelists: Eliza Gazda (Georgia Institute of Technology), Elizabeth Gregrio (George Washington University), Alia Hamdan (University of Arizona), Amber Roepe (University of Oklahoma)
