Albert Einstein's Impact on Accelerators and on the World

Abstract

The impact of Albert Einstein's 1905 papers on physics is discussed from the viewpoint of an accelerator physicist. The impact on the world is also discussed, looking at his activities as a pacifist and a humanitarian. The last part of the talk includes his views on atomic bombs and arms control, social justice, anti-racism and civil rights.
